The relationship aims to give agents more choice in the technology they use to work effectively with the insurer.
According to the two firms, the integration to The Hartford’s ExpressWay platform allows agents to stay on Xcipio’s XcelerRator system while completing the upload application submission process, in a bid to reduce the time spent on account transactions.
The technology is being piloted in New York and is expected to be rolled out to agencies in that state in late May. Xcipio anticipates it will be available in Pennsylvania in the fall and later in other states.
Bill Horton, personal lines manager for Connecticut-based The Stone Agencies, said the system is a response to what he claims is the insurance industry’s need for a SEMCI (single-entry, multiple carrier interface) concept: We’re not talking pipedreams any more. This is real, and it’s a productive agency tool. The fact that The Hartford is participating on the Xcipio platform demonstrates a real contribution in making SEMCI a productive reality.
