New options for internet document management, web authoring and email outsourcing have been unleashed upon an unsuspecting world. Knowledge and document management company PC Docs Group International Inc has unveiled additions to its web product line, recently brought under a single umbrella (CI No 3,430). The NT Server-based DOCSFusion 2.5, which manages documents on corporate intranets and on the web, now includes support for Novell NetWare, Oracle 7.3 and 8.0 and Sybase 11.x, while the latest version of the CyberDOCS browser-based client can handle any combination of JavaScript, Java, Active Server Pages and DCOM interfaces. PC Docs has also made changes to its PowerDOCS, DOCS Imaging 3.7, DOCS Binder and DOCS Open 3.7.2 products. Meanwhile, Australia’s Sausage Software has released its HotDog Professional 5 Webmaster Suite, including mBed Interactor, Tetranet’s LinkBot and Jasc Software’s Paint Shop Pro. The software is available for download for $199.95 from http://www.sausage.com/. Finally, CompuServe Network Services, a WorldCom subsidiary, is offering to host enterprise email on its new WANmail services. WANmail/POP3, WANmail/Hub and WANmail/Relay are to be built on top of ISOCOR’s email server, with WANmail/POP3 available now and the others due before the end of the year. WANmail/POP3 runs on redundant Cisco internetworking, Compaq servers and – oh dear – Microsoft’s Windows NT 4.0. CompuServe offers 24/7 support, which is lucky, given that Microsoft itself can’t scale NT to run its own large-scale email service, Hotmail.
