Companies expected to become X Window Consortium members include Bull SA, IBM and Fujitsu America Inc – in addition, firms may join the Massachusetts Institute of Technology X Consortium as affiliate members by contributing a $15,000 fee; Stellar Systems is currently an affiliate of the consortium and Evans & Sutherland and Software Productivity Consortium are expected to join as affiliates in the near future: it will be chaired by Robert Scheifler of MIT’s Laboratory for Computer Science and it will fund system enhancements, such as three-dimensional graphics extensions and libraries, video extensions, protocol binding and toolkits for languages other than C.
