Taunton, Somerset-based Harmonix Ltd has developed a new Macintosh NuBus ISDN board which it says can simultaneously aggregate the eight data channels of four ISDN lines while occupying only one slot. The company says the ISDN channels can be used individually, enabling, for example, simultaneous transmission to eight different remote sites. The channels can also be combined to give a single high-speed pipe with a throughput of up to 512Kbps. The board is available with industry-standard CommToolbox and Serial Port Redirector from 4-Sight International Ltd. This feature enables most Mac applications to run at ISDN speeds, such as TB2R and ARA, by using the board, says Harmonix. The company has not yet set prices.
