CompuAdd Computer Corp, Austin, Texas is moving up-market with the MC Series, a new line of six high-end workstations and servers, and has also done an OEM deal with Novell Inc under which desktop and floor-standing machines across the entire CompuAdd product line will be shipped NetWare-ready, pre-loaded with NetWare Workstation for Windows, NetWare Lite 1.1 and NetWare Lite’s Utility for Windows at no additional charge; the CompuAdd MC Series features three chassis styles – five- slot, three-bay low profile workstation chassis; eight-slot, six-bay desktop power chassis for use as a workstation or server; and eight- slot, nine-bay floor-standing server chassis; base systems in the MC Series range from $1,780 to $4,730 and include 4Mb, 120Mb IDE hard drive for the low profile and desktop power systems and a 500MB SCSI drive for the floor-standing systems, dual 1.2Mb and 1.44Mb floppy drive, 14 non-interlaced 0.28 dot pitch colour monitor, MS-DOS 5.0, Windows 3.1, and CompuAdd’s NetWare package.
