Hewlett-Packard Co is expected to come out with a new version of the LaserJet 5Si printer specifically designed to put copiers out of business. The initial version is likely to be targeted at relatively modest printing jobs, three or four copies of a document, for example, rather than for dozens of hundred-page documents. Internally dubbed the Mopier, the $5,000 device will come with a stapler, a multiple-slot stacker and secure, password-protected mailboxes into which printouts of confidential documents can be placed, according to Reuter.
