NEW HP DIVISION WILL TRY TO SHARPEN IMAGE

By CBR Staff Writer

Hewlett-Packard Co will try to brighten up its fusty image when it rolls out the first global brand advertising campaign for its Business PC Organization on February 15. VP Webb McKinney is running the new division, which centralizes what were formerly discreet operations. Jos Brenkel is its worldwide marketing manager. It is responsible for HP’s network servers and other network hardware, PCs, and enterprise and commercial services. It will oversee HP’s Vectra and Brio PC brands as well as Kayak workstations, NetServers, OmniBook notebooks and ProCurve networking. A new Home Products Organization is responsible for its low-priced Pavilion PC and Jornada mobiles and is run by Jacques Clay.
