NEW FLEXILINK 7000 RANGE OFFERED BY PINACL

By CBR Staff Writer

Rhyl, Clwyd-based Pinacl PCSL has announced a range of products for its Flexilink family of multi-signal communications units for local area networks, video, audio and data. These build on the existing offering, Flexilink 6000, which provides communications over fibre optic cabling. The Flexilink 7000 is a series of boards and racks that convert signals for transmission over either twisted pair or fibre optic. According to the company, this is accomplished by plugging in the appropriate interface board for different protocol requirements. The boards can be replaced, removed or reconfigured without having to access or readjust the cabling infrastructure, says Pinacl. The Flexilink 8000 is claimed to offer the capability to transmit high-resolution video and keyboard signals over any type of twisted pair. Pinacl says both of the new ranges are intercompatible, enabling mixing and matching of units. They are also said to be backwards compatible. No details of price or availability as yet.
