The combination of L M Ericsson’s computing interests with those of Nokia Oy is expected to create a company with annual sales of some $1,200m, and the price to be paid by Nokia to create a business in which it will hold 80%, is thought to be between $150m and $170m: the new Nokia Data Systems AB will be headquartered in Stockholm and have 8,000 employees, starting out doing 36% of its business in Finland, 31% in Sweden; in product terms, Nokia brings more micros, workstations and a technical mini to the party.
