Miller replaces Bob Pittman, former COO of AOL Time Warner, who became CEO of the division in April, after Barry Schuler stepped down from the post.

Pittman exited his post, as interim CEO of America Online in early August, after receiving the bulk of the blame for the AOL Time-Warner’s declining stock price, combined with losses in Ad revenues and subscriber slowdown in the America Online division.

Miller will be operating under the scrutiny of top executives with strong personalities. He will also have the major task of changing round a division that has been accused by other divisions for pulling down the stocks of AOL to an all-time low.

In addition to the interim problems facing AOL, it is now under a preliminary fact finding investigation over suspicious accounting practices by the US Securities and Exchange Commission.
