MacWeek reports a new candidate has emerged for the vacant Apple Computer Inc chief executive job in the unlikely figure of Sony Corp veteran and Icelandic novelist Olafur Johann Olafsson. He discussed the possibility in a meeting with Steve Jobs this week in Cupertino. Olafsson was chief executive of Sony Interactive from 1994 to October 1995, since when he has been successfully writing and publishing short stories and novels. Olafsson has not ruled out taking another position besides that of CEO.
