A virtually unknown Canadian fax software company, 01 Communique Laboratory Inc of Mississauga, Toronto has come up with a standalone Windows95/NT fax package that includes voice telephony, electronic mail, paging and data communications capabilities. The do-it-all Communicate! program also includes optical character recognition with a claimed 98% to 100% accuracy rate, a contact manager and a color graphics editor. It’s $180 and 01 Communique has made its target pretty clear – the contact manager imports database files from the phone books of programs like market leader WinFax Pro from fellow Canadian Delrina Group, now a Symantec Corp subsidiary.
