The new AT&T 6300 Workgroup System (CI No 889) is an improved version of the 8086-based 6300 models with a 10MHz version of the chip: AT&T has orders for 700 of the new boxes from Greyhound Lines for passenger ticketing, and unspecified numbers from Knight-Ridder Business Information Services for its Moneycenter financial information network; the 6300 will also play in Peoria – Bradley University in the Illinois town is to put 6300 Workgroup systems into dormitory rooms, giving the resident students access to the school’s computing resources via an AT&T Information Systems network.
