Frederic Court has launched a new venture capital company, Felix Capital Partners, to invest in fashion and digital media firms.

The $120m fund will support new European startups and focuses on digital lifestyle, investing in brands and associated enabling technologies.

The company said investments range anywhere from $100,000 to $10m, typically in first or second rounds, or even later in breakout firms.

Felix Capital’s investors are mainly European and US institutions, including pension funds, endowments, foundations and other groups.

The firm’s advisers include Facebook executive David Marcus, Oracle executive Reggie Bradford, Klarna board member Jon Kamaluddin and Maker Studios executive Rene Rechtman.

Felix Capital’s initial investments include an undisclosed interest in Farfetch. The comopany will also invest in the Business of Fashion news portal, and streetwear brand RAD.

The company plans to announce more investments later this year, and in other sectors too.

Court told the Financial Times, "One of the things we’ve seen in Europe is there is a huge amount of talent coming from the creative industries.

"We want to invest in things like fashion, luxury and beauty, and are generally more interested in content and music. We want to work on the heritage we have in Europe in crafting desirable products and services."
