Imagination Technologies has launched its low power Creator CI20 microcomputer that can be used for home automation devices, gaming and wireless multimedia streaming systems.
The new microcomputer has pre-installed Debian 7 and will be capable of running on Linux and Android 4.4 operating systems.
Creator CI20 features a 1.2 GHz, MIPS32-based, dual-core processor which is reportedly more powerful than the processor used in Raspberry Pi. It also features 1GB of RAM, and 4GB of on-board flash storage.
The PowerVR SGX540 graphics used in the microcomputer is used in iPhones and iPads and offers support for OpenGL 2.1 and OpenGL ES 2.0.
Creator CI20 is equipped with video hardware for low power 1080p decoding at 30 fps, and offers connectivity with high-speed 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0.
Imagination has used FlowCloud support with the Creator CI20 to facilitate development of devices based on Internet of Things (IoT), which could include health monitoring, energy management, cloud-based systems.

The $65 microcomputer is available for pre-order and is expected to reach customers by the end of January 2015.
