A new hosted desktop service has been launched aimed at SMBs.

WeWorkEverywhere provides a ‘premium, personalised, and hosted’ desktop solution for users to access their desktop, business applications and files from ‘anywhere, at any time and on any device’.

The service is built upon Microsoft’s Azure cloud platform with access provisioned via Citrix.

WeWorkEverywhere is powered by Northdoor IT consultancy, and works on a subscription basis that costs £40 per user per month for a hosted desktop service (based on up to 50 users) and £35 per user per month for over 50 users.

Richard Reggel, Head of Cloud Services, WeWorkEverywhere said: "WeWorkEverywhere provides users with the same ‘look and feel’ as their current desktop PC or laptop except that it is provisioned in the cloud. This gives users freedom to work remotely, to rapidly scale their business without impacting on productivity and to meet fast changing customer demands. With the imminent end of life of Windows XP and Office 2003, this service gives organisations a rapid and cost effective way of migrating."

As the hosted desktop allows users to continue to use their existing desktops and devices, WeWorkEverywhere champion the cost-saving aspects of their service. CPU, RAM and storage are all provided by the company’s servers.

"It’s bringing what VDI has been for enterprise size organisations to a company where really a VDI solution wouldn’t be cost effective.

"Every organisation wants controllable IT costs and predictable pricing but that can be hard to achieve if you are a rapidly changing business. WeWorkEverywhere offers price certainty and a solution that is priced according to a businesses’ needs. Organisations only pay for what they use."
