NEURON DATA TO SHOW GRAPHICAL INTERFACE BUILDER FOR NT AT COMDEX

By CBR Staff Writer

Palo Alto, California-based Neuron Data Inc has finally got around to releasing version 2.0 of its Open Interface in the UK. It is currently available for building interfaces that are portable across Motif, Open Look, Macintosh, Presentation Manager and Windows, and a Windows NT version will be shown at Comdex next month. Prices for the run-time system are UKP200 per user for Unix and VMS, UKP100 for Macintosh and Windows personal computer versions, but development licences start at a very hefty UKP12,000 for Unix – UKP9,000 for the iAPX-86-based Santa Cruz and Interactive variants – and UKP7,000 for Mac and Windows personal computers. Dropping hints that an initial public offering could be on the cards, the company pointed to figures showing that the majority of software start-ups are ready to go public once they have got through between $10m and $20m of venture capital; Neuron Data has raised $16m.
