Neuron Data Inc, currently filling in the gaps in its overall Elements architecture, announced earlier this year has launched Smart Elements, a combination of its established Open Interface graphical user interface builder with its Nexpert Object rules based scripting system. Before, developers had to link graphical user interface, objects and rules by using C code – now it’s point and click, says the company. The Palo Alto, California company’s graphical user interface provides a superset of all the major graphical interface capabilities and is portable between Macintosh, Unix and Windows machines. UK prices start from UKP5,000 for a developer’s licence, and they now look a lot more attractive to software developers since the company responded to pressure from users and dropped its charge for run-time versions recently.
