Panasonic launch MVNO service to connect to M2M cloud

Company also announce Green Tower, an energy infrastructure management solution.

By James Nunns

Panasonic has launched its own Mobile Virtual Network Operator service which is designed to allow businesses to connect with the M2M cloud.

M2M has been showcased at Mobile World Congress by the company, which has said that it will begin integrating mobile connectivity across product lines. This would allow them access to the M2M cloud services such as remote monitoring, data collection and analysis.

Panasonic say that systems such as heating and cooling solutions, as well as other IoT connected systems, will be able to be controlled remotely via the M2M network. This would allow for savings in energy and carbon emissions.

Panasonic has also announced Green Tower, an energy infrastructure management solution which aims to provide smart energy generating, storage and the control of assets for cellular communication and Wi-Fi cell sites.

John O’Donohue, Chief Executive Officer of PowerOasis, said: "This turn-key solution highlights the significant benefits mobile operators can achieve by incorporating an integrated energy management platform and Lithium Ion battery technology into their network energy strategy."

Panasonic’s final announcement came in the shape of the establishment of the Panasonic Business Software Solutions Europe. This has been formed following the acquisition of DHL Digital Solutions which offers software for the control and management of logistics and supply chain.

Laurent Abadie, CEO of Panasonic Europe, said: "The establishment of Panasonic Business Software Solutions Europe is an important step towards our strategy of offering business customers a one-stop-shop for the design, roll out and operation of their business solutions."
