One becomes Orange in Austria

Austrian mobile operator One, owned by Mid Europa Partners and France Telecom, have announced the launch of Orange in the country. Austria will thereby become the second country in a week to join a community of 27 other Orange countries representing over 115 million customers following the launch of operations in Kenya under the Orange brand.

According to France Telecom, all elements of the new brand will be deployed throughout the 90 Orange stores and 1,700 dealers across Austria. All points of contact between Orange and the customer, such as the network, invoices, call centers and the internet portal, will be re-branded under the Orange identity.

Olaf Swantee, senior executive vice president for personal communication services at France Telecom, said: We are very excited about welcoming One to the Orange family. Orange is one of the world’s most powerful telecoms brands. People everywhere respond positively to our promise to make telecoms more simple, human and compelling.
