According to Gigamon, the application combines its GigaVUE data access switch and the ExtraHop application delivery assurance system, creating a technology platform that is expected to ensure top-to-bottom visibility of application stacks within complex network environments. The combination is expected to optimize network infrastructure by delivering application level visibility via a passive network device.
Tom Gallatin, vice president of sales and marketing at Gigamon, said: The network is the heart of today’s businesses. A comprehensive network and application visibility solution, enabled by GigaVUE and the ExtraHop system, helps networking and application teams work together to troubleshoot problems, tune for performance, and ensure that the business is racing ahead.
Jesse Rothstein, CEO and co-founder of ExtraHop, said: In this hyper-distributed, virtualized world, most IT organizations are still dealing with a hodge-podge of tools which are sorely inadequate for today’s troubleshooting, performance tuning and capacity planning needs. Our technology partnership with Gigamon gives IT personnel the assured, highly efficient and, most of all, complete solution they need for smart network and application management.
