According to the company, these test modules are expected to be the de facto industry standard when it comes to multi-service test capabilities with DSn/PDH, SONET/SDH, OTN, ethernet, and fiber channel support.
The FTB-8120NGE and FTB-8130NGE Power Blazer modules are housed inside the FTB-200 Compact Platform and FTB-400 Universal Test System for field and central office testing requirements, while the IQS versions are hosted inside the IQS-500 and IQS-600 platforms for manufacturing floor and lab environments.
Vivian Hudson, vice-president and general manager of EXFO Service Assurance, said: These new capabilities in our portable and lab test solutions build on the strategy laid through our acquisition of Brix Networks in the spring for stronger integration between the different layers of our customers’ networks, from the physical layer right up to the applications layer.
Earlier in November, EXFO has added IPv6 (Internet Protocol version 6) testing capabilities for its field-portable FTB-8510B and FTB-8510G as well as laboratory IQS-8510B and IQS-8510G Packet Blazer series of test modules.
