Networking firm Cisco and Citrix, a provider of cloud, collaboration, networking and virtualisation technologies, have partnered to launch a new global initiative, the Cisco and Citrix Partner Accelerator.

Cisco and Citrix Partner Accelerator will draw competencies from both the companies to offer their partners training resources to deliver more complete IT services.

Cisco data center go-to-market solutions director Brian Allison said, "The Cisco and Citrix Partner Accelerator draws from the two companies’ best practices to give channel partners the resources they need to deliver complete, multi-vendor solutions that meet the needs of the changing workplace, and build more strategic relationships with their customers."

New global initiative aligns the channel sales and delivery models across the two companies through a single framework to build partner competencies, elevate partner differentiation and drive partner profitability.

Cisco and Citrix Partner Accelerator will enable the joint Cisco and Citrix channel partners to capitalise on demand for enterprise mobility, desktop virtualisation and device choice by delivering the Cisco Virtualization Experience Infrastructure (VXI) with Citrix XenDesktop application.

The Partner Accelerator tools help channel partners engage in consultative sales, expand their data centre, desktop virtualisation and collaboration practices and develop repeatable applications.

Resellers who are partners with both companies can now build and work on VXI and XenDesktop practice as well as deliver virtual desktops, voice and video, network and collaboration infrastructure as a complete package.

Citrix The Cisco and Citrix Partner Accelerator also makes available sales and marketing resources. It also provides differentiation in the form of unique branding for those partners that complete the required investments.

Citrix worldwide channel strategy and market development vice president Cynthia Gallant said, "The Partner Accelerator, the next step in the evolution of our partnership with Cisco, arms our joint partners with the tools and training they need to build more strategic relationships with customers and grow their business by increasing revenue and shortening the sales and implementation cycle."
