SkyCross is providing antennas for three Chinese handheld device companies — personal media players provider Aigo, handsets manufacturer Hisense, and Alcatel Mobile Phones, a business unit of TCT Mobile.
SkyCross provides antenna-centric RF systems to the mobile phone, home entertainment, and computing industries. It develops high-performance, frequency-agile, protocol-independent antenna technology to conserve battery life.
Founded in 2000, SkyCross has facilities in the US, South Korea, and China. SkyCross supports its China-based customers from full-service design and manufacturing facilities in Shenzhen and Shanghai.
Aigo’s DT5200 model is one of the first devices from the company to use SkyCross mobile video antennas for the China Multimedia Mobile Broadcasting (CMMB) standard based on satellite and terrestrial infrastructure. The SkyCross antennas receive high-quality audio and live HDTV including local news, and sports.
SkyCross has been providing antennas to Hisense since last year for a range of applications from advanced mobile handsets to fixed wireless phones. Hisense chose SkyCross to provide antennas for its C108 model, which uses Qualcomm’s mirasol display technology. Combined with SkyCross antennas, the C108 are expected to offer extended battery life.
For Alcatel Mobile Phones, SkyCross fits internal antennas in tight spaces to enable device designers develop designs without sacrificing performance or style.
Ping Chen, managing director of SkyCross China, said: “We are pleased to grow our customer base while supporting our loyal customers. This continued success underscores the value of our superior technology, cost-effective manufacturing, and local support.”
