BT has introduced its Converged LAN service in Brazil. The new service is expected to allow organizations to run voice, data and video over a single network based on IP.

According to the company, its Converged LAN (local area network) is based on Cisco technology. This service can be used with wireless or fixed line equipment and is claimed to allow a flexible service as it unites various communication tools that are used by a public audience.

BT’s Converged LAN service is also claimed to be customized to the individual communication needs of a company. Besides specifying, designing and implementing the local network platform, BT is also expected to take care of the management and maintenance of this infrastructure.

Luiz Sanches, country manager for BT Global Services Brazil, said: For an organization that adopts an infrastructure of this type it is fundamental to rely on and trust a partner that can provide connectivity, with quality of access, securely and efficiently for all its users, whether it is staff or clients. The new service is further proof of BT’s expertise in IP infrastructure. In this respect having a partner like BT that can satisfy a customer’s needs and its global presence in more than 170 countries are an important differentiator.
