3Com names new CEO

Enterprise networking applications provider 3Com has announced two senior management changes. It said executive vice president Robert Mao will take over as the new CEO from Edgar Masri, who is leaving the company, while Ronald Sege will be the new chief operating officer.

Mao will oversee the H3C operations in China, while Sege, reporting to Mao, will oversee the company’s US-based security technology business and operations outside China.

Before joining the company, Mao was president and CEo at Nortel Networks. He also worked at Alcatel and ITT.

Sege has been with 3Com for the past nine years. Before joining the company he was president and CEO at Tropos Networks, and prior to that he was president and CEO at Ellacoya Networks.
