NETWORK SYSTEMS CLAIMS COST SAVINGS AND DATA SECURITY FOR ITS HYPERTAPE

By CBR Staff Writer

Significant cost savings and greater data security are among the claims made by Network Systems Corp for its new Hypertape high speed back-up system for users of its Hyperchannel-1 super-fast local area network: currently restricted to the DEC VMS operating system, the products can either make direct links to the processor via Hyperchannel, or can be hosted on a server running on a DECnet local area network; long-term, the company aims to develop versions to run under 55 different operating systems.
