Oxnard, California-based Network Research has announced that Fusion Network Software Version 3.4 for VAX/VMS has been certified to run with the Oracle relational database management system: using Fusion and Oracle’s SQL*Net, users can distribute and access the Oracle database across heterogeneous systems in a multivendor TCP/IP environment; Fusion 3.4 for VAX/VMS features QIO, a standard interface for VMS that links Oracle’s SQL*Net networking software to the TCP/IP network protocols, and SQL*Net makes the link transparent to Oracle users who can access data from the computers on the TCP/IP network independent of where the data resides.
