Network Imaging Corp, the Herndon, Virginia based developer of multimedia content and storage management software, has been awarded a patent for its 1View:Object Manager technology by the US Patent and Trademark Office. The patent acknowledges the company’s method for the acquisition, storage and manipulation of multimedia data at the enterprise level. 1View:Object Manager is a software system for managing the content and storage of multimedia data types such as text, images, video and audio. The company said that it handles the management, storage and distribution of any type of multimedia or document object in high-transaction, client-server and internet or intranet environments. It is designed to let users tie in multimedia information while preserving investments in legacy information systems and hardware. Network Imaging is the company that worked with Sybase Inc on its QuickStart MediaMart, a multimedia content management system and a member of Sybase’s Adaptive Server Enterprise 11.5 suite, intended to handle high volumes of multimedia data for applications in web and client-server environments. Sybase released the product in December priced at $50,000 for 10 concurrent users on Sun Solaris or $40,000 for 10 concurrent users on Windows NT.
