By CBR Staff Writer

Redwood, California-headquartered Network Equipment Technologies Inc has signed a $1m contract with Sprint Corp’s Sprint International to provide high-speed bandwidth management equipment for the international telecommunications operator’s expanding global backbone network; Sprint International is currently in the process of introducing a new IDNX-based service that will support future traffic projections for speech, video and data. The initial roll-out is to include six nodes in continental Europe, three in the UK and four in the US, and is expected to go live next month. According to Sprint, Network Equipment Technologies’ IDNX Communications Resource Manager will be providing a system to reduce operating costs and to facilitate the deployment of new services.
