The Karlsruhe, Germany-based company was founded in 2001 and is privately held. It offers two main products and two smaller ones. The first of these is one2one, which Rachel Lane, MD of the company’s UK operation, said is a desktop-sharing product that can be bought for sales but also for support, with a special support edition that comes with drag-and-drop file transfer.
This has been the flagship products for Netviewer, but Lane said this is changing, with the second product one2meet gaining momentum. This is a one-to-many product for meetings, seminars and sales, she said. We’ve now got support for multiple webcams and the ability to deliver full-duplex VoIP for up to six participants. We’ve also added the theatre mode, whereby if the participants are viewing a PowerPoint presentation, the control panel can be removed for clearer visibility.
The two other products in Netviewer’s portfolio are remote2office for client-based remote access, and remote admin, which is the version for server management. These products sell as part of an enterprise license for the other products, said Lane.
