NETSPEAK PUTS WEBPHONE UPGRADE INTO BETA

By CBR Staff Writer

NetSpeak Corp, Boca Raton, Florida, has put a major upgrade of its WebPhone into beta testing, adding real-time video communications and firewall proxy support to the Windows95 and NT product. WebPhone 3.0, the first full 32-bit version, is aimed at business use over corporate intranets as well as the Internet and includes a list of functions typical of corporate PBXs right down to music-on-hold – the $50 program even has voice mail, to leave messages for users not logged on when somebody tries to call.
