Netscape Communications Corp and Lucent Technologies Inc have inked a marketing and technology agreement whereby Lucent will license Netscape’s CommerceXpert suite and its application server software for inclusion in its Ecommere Solutions package. The two companies will jointly promote the Lucent package of software and services. Lucent is going to offer three versions of the package: internet procurement solutions for companies switching from paper processes to online transactions; self-service solutions for those wishing to personalize their web site; and business trading solutions for service providers to host online trading communities. Lucent plans to add more services and products, starting with its Call Center technology.
