NETSCAPE TO PROMOTE EBAY SERVICES ON NETCENTER

A new agreement will see Netscape Communications Corp promoting eBay’s online trading community through its own NetCenter portal site. The two companies have expanded the terms of an existing strategic relationship, under the terms of which, eBay was a distinguished provider on NetCenter. eBay will now also be accessible through bookmarks to be included in Communicator 4.0 and later versions of Netscape’s browser software. Evidently Netscape still hopes that its combination of portal content and branded browser to drive traffic will realize those elusive profits.
