NETSCAPE TALKS UP SECOND QUARTER ORDER VOLUME

By CBR Staff Writer

Netscape Communications Corp’s VP marketing Mike Homer reports the company won more than 100 companies for orders of 500 seats or more in a little over a month during the second quarter. He also told Reuters that the company would get its software out to overseas clients containing 128-bit encryption technology ahead of Microsoft Corp, which got its export license from the government at the same time as Netscape. Homer declined to say what impact the orders would have on the company’s second quarter numbers, which are due July 22.
