The integration of Navigator into AOL’s client software is expected to significantly increase Navigator’s user base. The move could see Navigator’s share of the browser market rise to around 25% if all AOL users switch to the new software.
Meanwhile AOL has confirmed it is to close its UK based CompuServe and Netscape Online ISPs. The services are expected to close by June 2002, with users offered the chance to migrate to AOL’s subscription service. The move leaves AOL as the only major UK ISP not to offer a pay-as-you-go service.
