NetObjects Inc has announced version 3.0 of its Authoring Server web application server. It comprises an authoring server, administrator module, the TeamFusion website maintenance client and a Java-based content creation tool. New features with this version include the integration of the company’s flagship Fusion site development and maintenance tool; a Microsoft FrontPage connector that enables developers to integrate web pages built using the Microsoft tool – which NetObjects says is the first example of its plan to support other vendor’s clients – support for more concurrent users on the server; and an integrated asset management and remote administration system. One copy of the authoring server with two concurrent users and a two-client pack costs $1,585 and is available now for Windows NT. The FrontPage connector will be available within three months, at which time pricing will be announced. Redwood City-based NetObjects is majority-owned by IBM Corp.
