NetMotion Wireless has rolled out beta version of its mobile Virtual Private Network (VPN), Mobility XE that includes compatibility with Microsoft Windows 7, providing customers enhanced security, and user interface features and reliability improvements.

According to NetMotion, the Mobility XE is a mobile VPN offering that allows organisations to provide secure, remote access to a mobile workforce. It enhances mobile productivity by maintaining secure connections to applications as workers move through wireless coverage gaps and across various networks, and provides management tools that delivers the visibility and control organisations require as their workforce becomes increasingly reliant on public wireless networks.

Pam Cory, vice president of marketing at NetMotion Wireless, said: We are pleased to announce that this beta version, the latest update to our flagship product, Mobility XE, now supports Windows 7. This helps us offer our customers compelling benefits, including improved security and reliability features, and sophisticated management features, to improve mobile workers’ productivity.

Ross Brown, vice president of ISV and solutions partners for the worldwide partner group at Microsoft, said: Our ISV community is alive with innovation, and we’re committed to helping our partners drive the next generation of software experiences. Adding compatibility for the latest Microsoft operating systems helps ISVs to stay ahead of the competition and give their customers access to cutting-edge technologies.
