NetMind Technologies Inc claims that 5 million individuals now use its change detection service, Mind-it. One million of those customers joined the service in the last six months, the Campbell, California-based company said (CI No 3,500). NetMind counts as active users those with a valid email address who have signed up to receive change notifications for any web page that interests them. The company hopes that change detection will be the biggest thing since search engines. Companies like Boeing, Hitachi, Fujitsu, Kimberly-Clark, Telxon and US Pharmacopoeia are using NetMind’s core technology, called Enterprise Minder, to track competitors, profile customers and handle financial updates, online purchasing, job postings and general web site visitor retention. The company was founded in 1996.
