Cupertino, California-based NetManage Inc has acquired Scotts Valley-based Syzygy Communications Inc to extend its TCP/IP for Windows skills. It paid 440,000 new shares worth about $8.6m. The acquisition is intended to extend NetManage’s leadership in TCP/IP applications and Intranet communications technologies for efficient delivery of digital data, digitised image, audio and video data. The result of this agreement will be new Intranet applications that will allow users to collaborate, communicate and share content-rich information, said NetManage president Zvi Alon – sounds as if it is out to reinvent Notes.
