NetLogic Microsystems, a developer of knowledge-based processors and integrated circuits, announced support for the NFP-32xx from Netronome Systems, a developer of semiconductor products that provide flow processing for virtualised servers and network equipment.
NetLogic and Netronome will cooperate to develop reference designs that include the new NFP-32xx along with processors, NETL7 Layer 7 knowledge-based processors and 10-Gigabit Ethernet PHY products from NetLogic Microsystems. The collaboration is expected to help customers accelerate time-to-market and reduce development costs for advanced, next-generation systems.
Accoding to NetLogic, the NFP-32xx family of network flow processors will remove the performance barriers in unified computing architectures by integrating high-performance networking, security processing and I/O virtualisation with general-purpose computing. The NFP-32xx is also backward-compatible with the Intel IXP28XX family of network processors.
Niel Viljoen, founder and CEO of Netronome, said: “Their industry-leading 10G PHYs, L2 – L4 knowledge-based processors and NETL7 knowledge-based processors are a critical addition to our reference designs and an important element of our overall solution support for Netronome’s NFP to allow technology interoperability between the two solutions.”
