Net.Genesis Inc, the web site analysis tool company trying to move into the booming customer relationship management arena, says version 4.0 of its net.Analysis tool will be generally available in March and is in beta right now. The company seems to have shifted its marketing focus slightly from last time we spoke in October, when it announced net.Analysis. Now the company is pushing the product as a way of understanding a web site’s customers, as well as monitoring traffic and advertising campaigns and has signed various partnerships in recent months to enable it to do that. The new version of the tool can integrate profile information from Engage Technologies, commerce data from IBM’s Net.Commerce and, in a partnership just announced, personalization information through a deal with Net Perceptions Inc, enabling net.Analysis to correlate data with the web behavioral data gathered by Net Perceptions. The company also secured an agreement with Allaire Corp, which it flagged back in October (10/09/98), to integrate net.Analysis with Allaire’s ColdFusion web application server to enable developers to use reports generated from net.Analysis in ColdFusion-enabled web applications. net.Analysis 4.0 will ship first supporting Sybase, Informix and SQL Server on Solaris and Windows NT. The company is working on a version supporting Oracle and that will be ready on Solaris and NT by the end of the second quarter. AIX versions will follow. The net.Instrumentation customizable user interface, which is new in version 4.0, also provides a new revenue stream for the company’s services team.
