NETGEAR, a global networking company, has unveiled N600 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit Router – Premium Edition (WNDR3800), a home router that offers Clear Channel Selector and creates private cloud file sharing through NETGEAR’s new ReadySHARE Cloud service.

Clear Channel Selector automatically detects when the WiFi channel currently in use becomes overcrowded and switches to another less-crowded channel, and creates a more reliable home WiFi network by reducing sudden disconnects and slowdowns, the company said.

ReadySHARE Cloud transforms a USB hard drive or flash drive plugged into the USB port of the N600 Premium Edition into a private "cloud" storage system for securely accessing and sharing files within the home network or across the Internet.

iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, Android smartphones and Android tablets users can access shared files from any computer with an Internet connection through apps from NETGEAR.

The new router features ReadySHARE Printer, NETGEAR Live Parental Controls, guest network, support for the DLNA standard for streaming media, automatic Quality-of-Service (QoS), expanded TiVo storage, dual-band wireless-N, four high-speed gigabit Ethernet ports, automatic WiFi security, and open platform.

NETGEAR director of product marketing Som Pal Choudhury said the unprecedented feature set of this advanced router makes wireless connections more reliable, breaks down the barriers to file-sharing in the cloud and much more – yet it’s easy to set up and manage.
