NETCOM AND SCITEC TO USE CISCO IOS INTERNETWORKING SOFTWARE

By CBR Staff Writer

Cisco Systems Inc has signed two new vendors to integrate the Cisco IOS internetworking operating system software with their switching products. Netcom On-Line Communications Services Inc will bundle Cisco IOS software, saying that it will gain marketing support from Cisco and be able to offer customers an early review of new Cisco product offerings, customized access solutions and upgrades. The second company, Scitec Communications Systems Pty Ltd, will add Cisco IOS to its FastLane Fast Packet Switch. It says the resulting product will integrate local network, telephone, facsimile and video traffic across a customer’s wide area network. The integrated product will ship in June.
