NETBEANS TURNS TO CLOUDSCAPE FOR OBJECT DATABASE

By CBR Staff Writer

Prague-based NetBeans Inc said Friday it would bundle Cloudscape Inc’s Java-based object relational database with upcoming releases of its NetBeans Integrated Development Environment (IDE). The companies said the database would be embedded within NetBeans’ Developer 2.0 software, allowing users to create Java applications that integrate a fully functional, lightweight object-relational database manager. Oakland, California-based Cloudscape, claims it ships the only 100% Pure Java SQL database manager designed to be invisibly embedded within applications as a local data manager.
