With the investment community’s eyes always feasting on the next internet opportunity, Encinitas, California-based Mosart Systems Inc isn’t get much of look in. The would-be semiconductor design shop was created by Ron Courtois a former exec at Mitel Semiconductor’s US unit. He unsuccessfully tried to get a piece of Mitel’s business that would have formed the genesis of Mosart’s first venture. He didn’t get the financing and Mosart remains an acquisition vehicle. Courtois has been joined by Gary Gibson, ex director of engineering at Metaflow, STMicroelectronic’s Intel clone shop. Courtois says he’s got a bunch of engineers with varied expertise, including analog and mixed signal processing ready and waiting to join once he can secure some investment.
