Google owned Nest announced that it has acquired smart-home automation device maker Revolv.
Revolv sells Internet-connected devices and software to manage thermostats, locks and lights through a smartphone app.
Following the acquisition the Revolv home automation hub, which retails for $300 will not be available for sale, however the company said that it will provide support to the existing customers.
Revolv offered similar services to that of SmartThings which has been acquired by Samsung which has also ventured into smart home technology.
In an attempt to get into the smart home technology, Google bought Nest $3.2bn and prior to Revolv, Nest acquired another smart home device maker Dropcam for more than $555 m.
Apple is reportedly working on smart home devices with its HomeKit technology, but the company has not released a product yet.
In its blog Nest said: "As of today, Revolv is now officially a Nest company. Their experience connecting devices around the home will help us continue to grow Works with Nest and bring the conscious home to life."
The financial details of the acquisition have not been disclosed.
