Wockhardt Pharmaceuticals is the fifth largest pharmaceutical company in India, specializing in the manufacture and distribution of generic drugs. Ness was selected to carry out the task of maintaining its financial IT infrastructure based on its solutions for life sciences firms.
We selected Ness for this important project due to their ‘SmartSourcing for Life Sciences’ offering which combines project management and domain expertise in the US and cost-effective development teams in India to develop the solution, said Suresh Shenoy, vice president, Information Technology, Wockhardt Ltd.
The initial phase of the project began in December 2004 and is expected to be completed by first quarter of 2005, with maintenance and enhancements continuing throughout 2005 and beyond. This engagement represents the tenth new client acquisition in the life sciences industry for Ness during 2004. Life sciences clients currently engaged with Ness include: Allergan, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Emisphere, Metaphore, and Pfizer.
