NERVOUS INTEL, MICROSOFT, COMPAQ PROPOSE DEVICE BAY

By CBR Staff Writer

Compaq Computer Corp, Intel Corp and Microsoft Corp are all running scared of the Network Computer and are at last starting to address some of the bugbears that make the standard personal computer so pestilential. The trio now plans a standard Device Bay to make it less of a pain to add peripherals such as disk drives, modems, network boards, CDROM and DVD-ROM drives and the like. The Device Bay will be supported in Intel chip sets and future Windows.
