NEC’S PC ENGINE TO DO WELL IN JAPAN

Taking up the Famicon baton is NEC Corp, whose PC Engine promises to do a lot better in Japan than IBM’s ill-fated PCjr did in the US: the pricey PC Engine, which provides arcade-type games with more realistic characters and better colours than the Famicon, has sold over 300,000 in the last two months and NEC is hoping to get 800,000 away by March.
